MGB is the most reliable, and makes the least power - also pretty easy to work on. You get what you pay for. '73 is the best year - just before plastic bumpers and pollution control. Triumphs are pretty expensive, except for the TR7 and TR8 - with good reason. Skip the Alfa Spyder - you'd be better off with a 205 series Alfetta GTV. Best of the bunch, but (like all sports cars, a little temperamental).

Good luck!

If you are looking for reliable then maybe you should consider something besides an older british sports car or the alfa.
Mazda Miata, Toyota MR-2, Honda S2000.

If you're looking for reliable, you're looking for one of those. If you're asking about reliability, you are not prepared for the cars you listed. Those are what is generally referred to as a ''labor of love.''

edit: No, dude, you don't want the one with fuel injection. Pre-OBD fuel injection was often a nightmare to diagnose if anything went wrong (******* L-JETRONIC!). Any shade-tree mechanic can fix a carb. You need an expert to handle old fuel-injected cars, or else you're just going to throw parts at it till it's fixed.
take a look at the 911
Goodness is this a daily driver? Cheap? All of these cars mentioned need special attention.
