I would have thought the brakes were quite adequate as standard, memories of fights in the pedal box, trying to extract the split pin which secures the clevis pin would lead me to stick with a cylinder which will fit on to your existing servo.
Incidentally, whe new water pump failures were regular occourances and condenors in the Distributor used to fail with monotonous regularity until we hung them on the coil bracket away from the engine heat. How Triumph managed 95% of the power of a twin cam engine with 120% of the complication is something more appropriate to a monty Python Sketch than an Engineering history.
