Technology put people out of jobs, especially the lower skilled people. A lot of the software I wrote reduced the number of jobs in the billing department. Sometimes a single computer generated report would replace the information that several people spent their time putting together.

Technology not only helps men to do things more efficiently %26 effectively but also for men to kill one another more efficiently %26 quickly.

It helps make our lives more convenient - planes %26 cars - but contributes to pollution %26 global warming
In brief: The rise of industrial nations left an unfair playing field for the nations not able to keep pace. Look at Africa, they couldn't industrialize with America, Britain, etc... and look what's going on there? Rampant disease and poverty...
And you asking Answers!!!?

Thesis: It freed up man's time but made him dependent on others.
Ghandi Ji explained that while technology is a wonderful thing, the machine must never tend to atrophy the limbs of man. This is the modern delima, in that fine arts and crafts are being replaced and the result is a less individually enlightened society. Philosophically as well techno- centric ideas follow the limitations of Mathematics and as the classics have pointed out, math is morbid!
