What events in history are under the theme of ''triumph and tragedy''?hp
Well, here's one:
I would say that Constantine's conversion to Christianity (and the resulting effects) could be classified as both a triumph and tragedy.
If you learn about how he not only stopped the persecution of early Christ-followers but also took the simple, loving message of Jesus and turned it in to a foundation for 'Christendom' and world domination, maybe you'll understand why I feel that it was both a tragedy and triumph.
Just my $0.02 :)
You must be doing a History Day project! Good for you! Hope to see you at Nationals next year!
This is a theme that has a wide variety of possibilities, but I think a very good one is the US Space Program.
The rise and fall of the Roman Empire. The short lived life of Alexander the Great. He had many triumphs then tragically died. The Mongolian Empire ... the Czars of Russia covering over 200 years of rule by the Romanov family ...
I hope that helps ...
Civil war is one good example
