pretty much any 4 cylinder you want. the front of a spitfire is open, you can modify the frame and mounts easily, and make any engine fit with a bit of thinking.
just, if you go any bigger than the spitfire engine, do some serious brake and suspension upgrading. because the brakes on those cars were, crap, to say the least

At least it's better than the triumph of Bush here in the U.S... but I would rather put my loyalty in a set of ideals than in a person. As long as his actions help to make life better for everyone in his country, not just the rich, then I'd support him, but the pace of his changes to help the average person in his previous terms has been slower than I'd like. He still allows private media to be dominated by the voice of the wealthy shareholders and upper management, rather than the voice of the employees or the community - personally I think that's the biggest problem he has to deal with, for the sake of real democracy.

One popular swap back in the eighties was the small block Ford. The TR8 had the old aluminum GM V8 from the sixties as the standard engine. Advance adapters used to make a kit for conversion of the TR7-8 to SB Ford. Maybe you can dig one up.

Height and weight restrictions in newer cars are established primarily due to little kids being injured by airbags when they are deployed. Obviously, you won't have that problem in a 1964 Spitfire. In 1964, seat belts were still optional in most cars, and shoulder harnesses weren't invented yet!

Also, does anyone that owns one of these ride with friends who ride sportbikes (like gixxers). If so, how well do they keep up, in the straights, and in the twisties?
My friend just got a 05 which is the same animal, (04 was the previous generation) anyway its not top heavy. He rode w/ me and another friend 04 R1 and 05 1000rr and kept up better than he normally does on his Ducati. I rode it thru some twisties and its fun, the motor is plenty fast and torquey I didnt like the pipes as my boots kinda got hung up on them, I also dont like the triumph front master cyl as for some reason they have slack in them before the piston moves. I had a 01 triumph that was exactly the same. I'm sure a master cyl change can remedy that easily, or just get used to pulling in the slack before braking.
The S3 is a GREAT bike for commuting and canyon carving.. As far as comfort, I'd say it's as comfortable as my monster, but really cramped for any passengers that may be unfortunate to ride with you. I don't remember the S3 being ''top heavy'' but then again, I can't think of any bike I've ridden in the last decade being top heavy other than the BMW adventure and KTM SM (and even those weren't bad. I'm 5' 11'').
BTW, the S3 makes the most satisfying exhaust note. You should just go and test drive it. Bring your wallet. Also check out the KTM super duke 990.. Other than just sitting on it, I don't have any FHE, but I hope to change that this weekend!
Don't know about the top heavy part but if you're any kind of rider a speed3 should have no problem keeping pace with a gixxer in the straights or the corners ( ok maybe the gixxer 1000 is faster in the straights).

I would have thought the brakes were quite adequate as standard, memories of fights in the pedal box, trying to extract the split pin which secures the clevis pin would lead me to stick with a cylinder which will fit on to your existing servo.
Incidentally, whe new water pump failures were regular occourances and condenors in the Distributor used to fail with monotonous regularity until we hung them on the coil bracket away from the engine heat. How Triumph managed 95% of the power of a twin cam engine with 120% of the complication is something more appropriate to a monty Python Sketch than an Engineering history.

Hi these bikes are great as long as they have been serviced by a triumph dealer at the stated intervals, if they have not been serviced by a triumph dealer walk away.
A triumph dealer gets regular downloads for the brain of the bikes which must be done on a regular basis or the bikes run rough and can be unreliable.
As for dealers try Flitwick motorcycles just north of London they are also Yamaha dealers so would take your TDM in PX.

When Triumph (built in my native Nottingham) was closed down, it was a great loss to England, and a great opening for Japanese bikes. Same goes for BSA - if you old enough to remember, or keen enough to find out. And what about the Ariel Square 4. Or am I going off at a tangent?
I had a daytona and thought it was a fantastic bike and in three years of riding it the only problem I had was with the sprag clutch on the starter motor(Cost 拢180 to repair including oil and filters), I have two friends who have tigers and both rate them, one even traded up to a newer model, so they must like them.
These bikes are only as good as the person who maintains them,so yes there are some good ones out there you've just got to check them out,as far as dealers go I'm a little out of touch with who's who in London but Slocombes in Neasden or Hamerax used to deal them in my day and they were good dealers

I don't really think past their prime has anything to do with it. But when you write songs based on anger you are going to run out of steam, people just tend to mellow out as they get older. So I'm sure finding that source and being able to channel it musically gets harder.

It all depends how much you can get done yourself, what level of finish you want and whether you manufacture some of your own parts or buy out of the glossy catalog's. I've built a couple over the years that only cost in the hundreds over the price of the bike to modify. If you can weld, polish and paint it saves a lot of cash.
Just go on-line and add up the parts. My friends were building choppers for about $25K each, but I'm sure if they used cheaper and used parts and made alot of the parts themselves they could have made the same unrideable showpiece for cheaper.
If you already own the motorcycle, yes. A true ''Bobber'' is about taking things off the bike more than buying new parts. Sure you might want painted rims and spokes, ape hanger bars, peanut gas tank and a solo seat (oh I most forgot, straight pipes). But those don't cost any where near 拢3000.
Just don't get carried a way with custom paint, molded frame, and chrome.

And TX is weird when it comes how they determine delegates. 1/3 of the delegates are voted on seperatly, and go to the winner, then the remaining delegates are broken up by percentage of voting results. So technically Hillary may not win the popular vote in TX but she could very well win the delegate count in Texas... but don't forget Rhode Island and Vermont are voting on Tuesday too.

When the engine is started it seems to keep spluttering and turning over, I've taken it apart and looked at it as well as i can but cant figure out what the fault could be..any suggestions?
definitely check the sparkplugs, that's the easiest and first thing to check when a bike that's been running, all of a sudden starts spluttering. could be fuel too, check any petcock screens you may have and clean them out.
course if it's been sitting and wasting away in someone's garage for a while it may be bad fuel and/or gummed up carbs, drain the tank put a bottle of carb cleaner [yes a full bottle is totally ok] in the tank [gumout or stp] fill the tank with new fuel and ride it about 20-30 miles. that might clear it up. might not hurt to just throw new plugs in either way.
what exactly did you take apart? the motor? the carb? or just the plastics over the motor?
I'm not familiar with Triumphs.
If it has points, check the gap, timing, mechanical advancer (if it has one) and bearings (moto guzzies had a distributor with bearings).

If your going for a naked bike, I would go for the Speed Triple. All the reviews I've read for that bike have been positive. I wanted to get one, but I already have a naked bike (Suzuki SV650) so I ended up getting a Yamaha R6. The only other naked bike I like right now is the Aprilla Tuono, but I havent read much on it.

I think your best bet is to search around for owner forums. In general, older British cars are known to be problem prone, especially regarding electrical gremlins. BUT, with any car of that vintage, you have to know going in that it is not going to be reliable like a Camry/Accord. If you are mechanically inclined, then I would say worry less about their reliability and more on what it is about the car that appeals to you most. If you are not a shadetree mechanic, then I would suggest you find one that specializes in British cars and talk with them.

To get a great Number of responses, go to cruise critic on the net. Once your there go to forum. Put in your ship and/or cruise line and you will get plenty of responses.
I have cruised on the Triumph before! It is one of there older ships, but still in excellent condition. The ship is beautiful and the staff is nice. There is a lot of fun activities during the day on the lido deck and good shows at night. The more stuff you get involved with the more people you meet. You make it as fun, exciting, peaceful, or relaxing as you want it to be. The website cruisecritic.com is a good place to find info about the cruise and other people's ideas and reviews, but always take it with a grain of salt. I have read some reviews where the person let the decor of the room ruin their trip if you can believe that. Do get a good picture of sunset it is beautiful over the ocean.

My wife and I sailed on the Triumph last April and had a fantastic time. The crew was great and the cruise director was the best. It is a slightly older ship but overall was a great value for a basic cruise which can be said for most of the Carnival ships. The have pool games and various adult entertainment as well as entertainment for the kids. They have bingo games throughout the cruise. You can mix and mingle with people or you can just lay back and relax. Again a really nice cruise for the money.
We leave in a week to go on Royal Caribbeans Sovereign of the Seas and are looking forward to that.

1. Rocky - when he wins the boxing match at the end. This was the first movie I attended that got a standing ovation. In 1976, when I was in college, no one had ever heard of Sylvester Stallone. We went to the movies no matter what was playing because we didn't have anything else to do. What a huge inspiring surprise the movie was!
2. An Officer and a Gentleman - at the end where Richard Gere walks into the paper factory and carries out Debra Winger. This was the second movie I attended that got a standing ovation. Romantic notions aside, we were really cheering that Zach Mayo had finally figured out what was important in life.
3. The Shawshank Redemption - the scene where Tim Robbins emerges from the sewer pipe. I have a lot of favorite movies, but this one always ends up on top. I went to this one because Morgan Freeman's name was on the poster at the theater. I was wary because it was a prison movie, but in our 4 theater town you see what playing or head to the video store. This is truly a classic, fabulous film.

then, with as little courage i could muster up, i enrolled in another college. i graduated one year earlier than my generation, i was an exchange student to the 3rd best university in the country (USA). i stopped talking to my mother and never got depressed again (it seems she projected herself toward me all her life), getting out of college i fought like hell with my dad (it seems he has narcissist personality disorder); a few years ago a became a catholic christian again, i am starting two small business; and have been diagnosed with sleep apnea (to which i have a special machine that corrects it)
now i love my life everysingle day, and can't believe how i feel about myself. i am so happy of who i am today... and feel someday i will wake up from this wonderful dream!

Ah yes, the self fulfilling prophesy. I recognize it well. Adult children of alcoholics confront this every day. I, too, picked myself up by my bootstraps and worked my way back from the ''pit'' to life. I crashed into a moving wall or it crashed into me, not sure. I was also sexually abused during my teen yrs by a couple men. Alcohol? Everyone I knew practically was a guzzler. Suffice it to say that by the time I was admitted to the local looney bin I was a total basket case.
On most cruise ships, the first and last nights are usually ''casual''; this is giving you time to unpack and pack, possibly wearing the clothes in which you intend to travel.
Formal nights are usually when the ship is at sea and people aren't concerned with shore excursions.
When I've cruised with P %26 O, they always inform you the evening before about the dress code for the following day.
When I went, it was the second night.
If its a 7 day cruise. Formal nights will most likely be the first sea day, and the fourth or fifth day depending on when you port. Your caper (the news paper you get daily in your cabin) will tell you when they are, or you can ask your waiter.

First of all, cruising in general is always worth the money. It is the most wonderful way to travel. You get to visit new places, try some new foods and just sit back and relax. So, in my opinion, it is always worth the money.
The Triumph is an older ship, it was built in 1999. It isn't one of Carnival's worst ships, but also not the best. This particular ship tends to themed like a Las Vegas style hotel, but older, not real elegant, like many ships.
The food leaves quite a bit to be desired. When I think of cruising, I think of high class, delicious food. The food on board just wasn't real good. I found the dinner's to have little taste, meats were often dry, etc. The pizzas were frozen, just not what was expected.
One thing to keep in mind, the hallways are pretty narrow. So if you are in a wheelchair or anything, be aware that it can be difficult and sometimes impossible to get through.
Shows, were OK. They weren't bad, the crew just seemed like it was a new show for them and they were still in the process of learning the moves. For all I know they could have been, but other people have really enjoyed the shows.
Cabins are quite nice. The balconies are very large and very comfortable in size to sit on at night. But since I was on the ship I've heard some ''not so good'' reviews of the rooms.
France didn't win anything but got crushed during WW2? They also hold other monuments like Nepoleon's monuments etc... This nation seems to have monuments of victory commemorating events of their losses! Noticed that?

Oral B Triumph 9400. As a dental hygienist I have had both and still feel that the Oral B is a better choice. I also find that my patients tend to do better with the Oral B because it has a smaller brush head so you focus on just a few teeth at a time. I also had a patient that still had a ton of stain with the Sonicare and (unless he was grossly lying) his method of use was good and often. I spoke with their representative at a dental convention and they couldn't give me a good explanation. If you press to hard with this brush you will know because it will fail to work and that is a good way to gauge the amount of pressure you are using. Lastly my Oral B is always reliable and long lasting, I end up getting a new model prior to it failing. One note though, charge it up fully and then put your charger base away since leaving it on the charger all of the time will waste the battery sooner. Good luck!

Yes, you can use a small amount of polish in the rubber cup center of that brush head. It is strikingly similar to what I polish my patients teeth with. You should add a bit more toothpaste about 1/2 thru your brushing as it will have dissapated by then. Hope that helps!

I'd say go for it. Lots of people just rush into marriage and don't talk about their hopes and desires. Seek counseling and help to heal from the pain from the split of of your first marriage and you may also want to go to a Divorce recovery workshop at a local church as well. Get to know the person really well and make sure they are the right one this time before you make that ultimate commitment. Someday with time and healing you just may have the courage to move on again and try a new relationhip someday and maybe even marry again. Just take your time and heal first and take it slow!

Just wondering what the normal negotions for a motorcyle go down to. The last bike I bought for $100 under MSRP and I feel like I could do better.
Best time to negotiate a motorcycle sale is near the end of the month on a rainy day. Summer rains help, but if it's cold, they're anxious to move inventory. Can you wait til November?
Motorcycle dealers used to be more flexible in offering deals, but now but they'll hide extra costs. If all they offer you is ''monthly payments'' think again. Make them show you ALL the costs, taxes, delivery and setup fees as individual line items. Last time a dealership pulled this on me, I questioned them about a $4000 ''profit''. Play hardball.
The Tri scrambler is a hot seller around here. It is very retro. I would think you will need to pay very near MSRP
Play hardball with the dealership...tell 'em you'll only give 'em $500 over invoice (heck with MSRP).
Look at one that is for sale that is one year old (2006 model) just like the one you want. So take the 7999 and subtract the price of the one year old one and then take half of that number off the 7999 and that is the fair market value for a new 2007.

Not a triumph, because northern Germany and Scandinavia were permanently lost to the Church. Britain (except Ireland) was pretty well gone to Protestantism, and P'ism was also ascendant in the United Provinces, aka the Netherlands.

The Catholic clergy got reformed educationally. Most important, the Church developed their missionary ''shock troops'', the Jesuits -- learned men who could go toe-to-toe with Protestant divines in theological disputes, and were also the advance guard in carrying the, um, benefits of religion to the natives of the New World.

yes because the church was changed. any reformation has to be looked at what changed.
There was no such thing as a Catholic Reformation.
There was a Protestant Reformation; and a Catholic Counter-Reformation.
The Counter-Reformation was successful to some degree, in winning back into the folds of mother church, those who were on the fence so to speak.
But it in noway could be considered to have been a triumph.

That is the Triumph Scrambler and was reissued from the classic triumph that Steve McQueen rode in the 60's

No idea, but saw 2 Bonnies yesterday, took me back to my youth. They were both 750's approx 2 years, in age, apart OH! the sound as they started up. First time I have ever driven at 100 + per hour, what memories. Now the Tiger cub was something else.

Well, here's one:
I would say that Constantine's conversion to Christianity (and the resulting effects) could be classified as both a triumph and tragedy.
If you learn about how he not only stopped the persecution of early Christ-followers but also took the simple, loving message of Jesus and turned it in to a foundation for 'Christendom' and world domination, maybe you'll understand why I feel that it was both a tragedy and triumph.

40-65 depending on riding conditions (speed, accellerations, etc). In heavy traffic, with about 25 mph show on the onboard computer as average I get about 39 MPG
not sure about the Daytona, but my Triumph Speedmaster was very consistant at 45MPG. It has the 865 engine

I actually would like to have all new farings all the way around. I don't mind painting them. I can't seem to find them anywhere online. I purchased this bike and they didn't take care of the appearance but the motor is mint. anything would help me.
If you've had no luck looking on line, you might try a Triumph dealer. I'm sure you'll pay a mint for them there, but they'll be able to get you exactly what you want.

Sounds OK, but check which engine mapping is loaded. Early models had bad fuelling problems, so test ride carefully.
not the most popular bike due to fuel injection problems, even the re-mapped ones had their hiccups, i know its unpatriotic but i'd buy a cbr 600
All I can say is to go round some more dealers or look at the ads to get an idea of what you should be paying.
